The APAG’ association of Adventist parents from Gitwe has commemorated the genocide against the Tutsi and gathered a package containing household tools including food supplies for the survivors as to help them live comfortably.
They were alongside ESPG students and lecturers during the walk to remember and the commemoration activities.
Munyanziza Narcisse who is among the managers of the memorial site that 20 bodies of the Tutsis who were pastors are buried in the site..
Dr. Jéred Rugengande who represented the APAG managing director said that the association provides a selected neediest genocide survivor with an economic support that enables him/her to overcome post genocide hardships.
Ndayisaba Isaac and Mukagihana Felicité were the ones who were given support, a support which comprised with clothes, farming tools and medical insurance cash payments.
All the package was worthy 300, 000 Rwandan francs. The Police spokesperson in the South Province, Chief Sup. Hubert Gashagaza urged the participants to nurture post thoughts and behaviors as to protect the national from another disaster.
For him, the educated mind without conscience can be a disastrous tool rather than an effective tool for development.
Mukagihana Felicité who received the support expressed to UM– USEKE her appreciation for the support.
The IBUKA representative in the Ruhango lauded the support from the APAG, adding that it contributes a lot to the usual support the IBUKA provides to the neediest survivors.
