He performed as one of the people with disabilities who participated into the 400 meters’ race that took place in Congo Brazzaville in the ongoing AllAfricaGames.
Muvunyi ran the race within 49sec ahead of Elias Ndimulunde from Namibia. The third in the race was a Ivorian Noumbo JKL decorated with a silver and bronze medals, respectively.
The winner has a record in Rwanda for having been won the world championship in athletism reserved for people with disabilities that took place in France, July, 2012.
In Maputo, 2011 Muvunyi was decorated with a golden medal for having recorded the first place in 400 meters and was also been handed with another silver medal for racing a 800 meters.
He managed to win both medals during the AllAfricaGames championship that took place in Maputo Mozambique.
After winning the yesterday medal, he expressed his joyful feelings on the circumstances, urging that remaining a champion involves one’s lasting endurance and alertness.
Muvunyi revealed how hard the game was. For him, the race was attended by new and hardworking athletes who challenged him as never before.
