Imihigo performance: Rwamagana ranks first while Rubavu comes last

As local government leaders from all districts gather in the National Assembly, they have assessed the performance of the imihigo( contracts) made last year. The Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente who announced how districts performer said that Rwamagana district is ranked the best performer while Rubavu ranks last at the list.

The best performer among all is the Musanze district that ranks number 2 while it was ranked last one during last year’s performance.

It performed at 81,3% while it had 70,3% last year.

Imihigo aims at boosting social and economic development that is meant to positively change people’s lives.

Its assessment is conducted by an independent Institute called Institute of Policy Analysis and Research, IPAR-Rwanda.

It is in the duties of the Prime Minister to announce the final results to the President of the Republic and other senior officials gathered on the National Assembly Hall.

Imihigo has started being implemented for 11 years ago.
