The veteran coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira has passed away in Kanombe hospital were he has been hospitalized from longtime , the Sunrise team management reports. He was exercising as the Technical manager of the Eastern Province based team: The Sunrise.
Ntagwabira has been coaching different teams since 2004 including the APR FC , Rayon Sports, Kiyovu Sports and ATRACO FC.
He has been the deputy coach of the national football team when Amavubi was striving to win the CAN in Tunisia.
The outspoken coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira was the first one to reveal that some changes are needed in Rwandan Football management, citing issues such as corruption and smuggling but he was suspended for a year, accordingly.
His football carrier in Burundi when he was a teenager but he grew up and joined the Vital’O. He left the team to back the Rwandans who were struggling to liberate Rwanda from the dictatorship installed by the Habyarimana regime.
After the struggle, he entered the APR FC as a player and thereafter the coach of the same team. Since then, he coached different teams.
