Kamonyi: Investors built a rice remains processing factory

Officials from the Kamonyi rice remains factory, this infrastructure will help in reducing the quantity of rice remains that were otherwise thrown away and cause environment degradation. The factory labeled Mukunguli Rice Mill is located in Mugina sector, Kamonyi district

The factory has been operational for a month and its manager Uzziel Niyongira affirms that the aim is to reduce the quantity of rice remains and transform them into combustible items for domestic use.

Throwing such remains was both environmentally harmful and economically inefficient, he told Umuseke.rw

He however said that the factory has a huge work ahead to supply and satisfly the increasing market in Rwanda and at regional level.

At the other side, a relative number of Rwandans are not familiar with the importance of using such tools to cook in their respective homes.

The construction works of the factory started on January, 2016 and is worth 160 million Rwf
