The incident happened in Karongi Tax Park where a 35 years old man called Mungwarareba was caught trying to bring in Kigali a minor boy aged of twelve years for domestic labor. Parents of the child claim that it was an attempt to traffic their child.
A certain Uwamahoro Jeanne is the one who recognized the child as he stepped in the tax park being accompanied by Mungwararera and she called upon parents of the child informing them on the issue.
The parents of the child live in Kabuga cell, Rubengera sector, Karongi district.
The uncle of the child managed to know the incident earlier and quickly intervened and refused the child to embark in the taxi that was meant to head to Kigali.
He reported the issue to the Police that intervened thereafter and captured Mungwarareba.
The later agreed that the child was meant to be brought to Kigali, Nyamirambo district.
The child was meant to be given to a certain woman called Fina who desires a child to become a household keeper.
The uncle of the child told Umuseke that the child was a primary school learner in P4.
The executive secretary of the Rubengera sector Gedeon Ngendambizi called upon parents to be vigilant and have an open eye on their children as to hinder every endangering pitch on their behalf.
He urged to report on every matter that concerns the lives and freedom of their offspring.
The suspect Mungwarareba was brought to Rubengera Police station where he is waiting for further investigative procedures on his behalf.
