Karongi: President Kagame urges leaders to cater for residents’ cases earlier

The Head of State Paul Kagame urges leaders of Karongi district to be willing and committed to solve locals’ cases while these are at the early stages.

President Kagame urged leaders to solve people’s problems while they are at the early stage

President Kagame who is making an official visit to some districts of the Western Province  including Karongi told locals that commitment to achieve development will be one of the tools to become more self reliant.

He said that Rwandans should live comfortably and never suffer from poverty and take it for granted.

He said that overcoming poverty is possible if people are willing and committed enough.

He pointed out the yesterday’s inauguration of the Kivu Power Plant as one of the outstanding facts highlighting that Rwandans can be energy- independent.

For him the fact that Kivu Lake produces electric power from the methane gas was one step among others towards sustainable development that Rwanda is targeting.

President Kagame told the crowd that came to welcome him that the current statistics of Rwandans owning electric power are at 15%, adding that the rest of Rwandans will be provided with such  electric power to foster their economic endeavors.

Industries, services and tourisms as well as households will benefit a lot from the availability of the electric facilities that Rwanda has recently started producing, President Kagame mentioned.

The Head of State told locals to avoid laziness but embrace hardship and zeal for work.

As usual President Kagame had constructive talks with locals who highlighted the cases that, they expressed, weren’t satisfyingly dealt with by concerned bodies at the local level.

Before concluding his speech, President Kagame said that security is the key to sustain development.

He urged every Rwanda to guarantee the security of his/her neighbor and vice-versa.

We should not allow anyone to threaten our security and development, he reminded, and we should move forward in the path leading to our self reliance.

Collaboration and mutual understanding should characterize both leaders and locals as to nurture the democratic way of ruling.
