This has been communicated by the Mayor of Kigali city Fidel Ndayisaba to the drivers and co drivers who gathered in the Hilltop hotel yesterday.
The drivers who came from different entities were undergoing training relating to the exercise of their carrier so that they may keep improving their quality.
The training was planned by the RURA, RNP and the Kigali city authorities in order to help in the increasing of the effectiveness of the driving profession.
According to the Kigali city officials, the card will be set up as one of the key papers to characterize a professional driver and will help the traffic security agents to identify the misbehaving drivers so that the number of accidents that take people’s lives may decrease.
Some of the drivers presented the cases according which their employers require as much money as possible and hinders them from respecting some of the traffic regulations.
They also claimed that some of the riders who use their bicycles in the night time might be given a specific hour at which their services might stop so to let the bus drivers work properly.
This is in order to avoid accidents that are mostly caused by the fact a significant number of the bicycles do not have lamps that can enlighten the road.
Emmanuel Katabarwa in charge of service quality in RURA revealed to the participants that the ongoing changes will take time but will bear positive results with the collaboration of each of the concerned entities including drivers.
