A committee of inspectors in charge of assessing how standardized Rwandan hotels are has found that among ten hotels assessed only six fulfilled the requirements while four others are still closed.
The committee members include officials from the RBS, RDB, RURA, REG, WASAC, among other officials from various entities.
Among other attributions, the committee has to assess the service quality and delivery among hotels, restaurants throughout the country.
The communiqué released by the RDB informs that 10 hotels that were monitored, only six improved its working procedures while other four ones are urged to keep improving its services.
The managing director of the RDB, Serge Kamuhida vowed that the committee he leads will never allow hotels operating in Rwanda to overpass the rules regulating quality service delivery in Rwanda as this can tarnish the hotel tourism reputation.
Belise Kariza who heads the EDB revealed that in the coming few months, this institution will be having legal abilities to provide licenses to hospitality service providers as to ensure their abilities in providing quality services.
