The inaugural event of this five stars Hotel Kigali Marriot Hotel took place this Tuesday with the Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi as the Guest of Honor. It comprises of 254 spacious rooms equipped with all needed facilities for the convenience of clients.
Kigali Marriot Hotel building has eight flows, 254 rooms and 18 conference rooms. The hotel is linked to the Marriot International that is known to provide quick and decent services to its clients across the globe.
According to its high ranking representatives in Rwanda, the availability of this hotel will attract more tourism investments to Rwanda.
The price for accommodation in Kigali Marriot Hotel is set between 235$ and 240$ per night that equal to 200 thousand Rwandan francs.
Kigali Marriot Hotel VIP rooms (Executive Suite) can reach 4.500 $ per night while rooms reserved for Heads of States are worth 5.500$, equal to 4.4 million Rwandan francs.
The five stars hotel is under the management of the “New Century Development Ltd”, in partnership with Marriott Group.
The Chairperson of the New Century Development Ltd Hatari Sekoko said that this new infrastructure will serve as a means to boost the tourism in Rwanda, a country that is attracting more investors and becoming a hub of regional trade.
He revealed his commitment to partner with all stakeholders in this area as to make it more productive.
Sekoko lauded the Rwandan government’s willingness to promote all business that is sustainable and susceptible of improving people’s lives.
He thanked it for having provided them with a spacious land to set as a plot to build the hotel.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Marriot International Arne Sorenson expressed his deep appreciation and thanks to the Government of Rwanda for the completion and inauguration of the first Marriot Hotel in Sub Saharan Africa.
For him, this hotel is their gateway to the whole Sub Saharan Africa and allows Rwanda to expand its trade with wider and varying economic actors.
He promised effective services to clients and in various domains. Arne said that his hotel will make difference in the service sector.
The Hotel employs 250 Rwandans who include 33 girls graduated from Akilah University and who undergone intensive trainings in Dubai and Mumbai based hotels.
The Guest of Honor Right Hon Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi stressed the fact that having more and productive hotels in Rwanda fit in the national economic policies that target the achievement of better service delivery.
The availability of such hotels is an added value that helps Rwandan youth acquire jobs and emerge from poverty to success.
