Kigali: Police shot a thief nearby the former National Post Office

The National Police affirm that it shot a thief who attempted to steal someone’s belongings in the car and tried to run away.

The Police arrested him but he refused. As he tried to run away, a policeman shot him.

The one killed was at the black list of thieves that RNP was hunting down.

He was locally known as Kirabura or Kisisi. The Police spokesperson in Kigali city, SP Mwiseneza Urbain, told UM– USEKE that the shot thief attempted to steal stuffs that were packaged into the car stationed nearby the SIMBA super market.

The Policemen who were patrolling in the neighboring square approached him and urged him to stop but he ran away. After seeing that he was not willing to stop, the policeman shot him.

Passengers told our reporter that the thief was among the most wanted and  feared in the town.

They said that policeman did everything he could to arrest him but the thief refused.
