The Ministry of education in collaboration with the Microsoft yesterday agreed on the strategies to take as to boost the Rwandan education through the provision of both IT tools (computer among others) and knowledge to Rwandan students. The Microsoft will be delivering these tools to a cheap prices.
For the Minister of education, Dr Biruta Vincent, the partnership with help learners acquire a quality education and provide an effective contribution to individual and economic development patterns.
Minister Biruta found this agreement to partisanship with Microsoft as important tool that will strengthen teachers’ abilities to share knowledge with students.
According to Minister Biruta, this agreement will facilitate the Ministry to buy cheap computers and programs (one dollar to buy and install a software made by Microsoft).
Eric Opido who is the representative of the Microsoft company in Rwanda has welcomed the agreement,saying that this is a historical agreement as the company aims at providing everyone with a computer.
He expressed his company’s willingness to help Rwandan teachers acquire advanced knowledge in computer learning and teaching skills so to boost education and the youth.
It is the first time that Rwanda and Microsoft agree on a close partnership in IT and Computer skills learning.
The Microsoft corporation has been set up as a company by William Henry Bill Gates with his co-founder Paul Allen. Both men aimed at developing a company that will enable every individual in the world acquire a computer.
