Kiziguro: A deadly accident kills over ten people

This morning at 8h00, a terrible accident has happened  in Nyagashenyi sector. The bus labeled Toyota coaster that was coming from the Nyagatare crashed with Taxi Mini-bus that was coming from Gatsibo -Kayonza and more than 10 people died in the accident. According to the on ground sources, helicopter from the UN  has landed at the site to carry the dead and the wounded  to the Kigali based hospitals for an increased support.

The Nyagashenyi where the accident has happened is located nearby Ndatemwa, in  Kiziguro, Gatsibo district, according to one of the eye witnesses in the place.

The passengers involved medical staff and other civil servants who were heading to their usual working places.

The bus coaster was from the excel tours that operates in the eastern region.  One the Police officers said that the accident was caused by the driver of the coaster who wanted to bypass a dog that was travelling the road and crashed  a Toyota Hiace car.

Senior Superintendent Nsengiyumva Benoit told UM– USEKE that the exact number of the died is not yet identified but more emergency actions are being taken  save the lives of the wounded.

He urges the drivers and all road users to remain  cautious as to avoid such deadly accidents. He called upon the drivers to slowdown as they see that more dangerous threats happen in the streets.
