Last night the Academy of Achievement in London has awarded the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame for his contribution in increasing social and economic transformation Rwanda is currently undergoing.
After receiving the Award, HE Paul Kagame said that the award belongs to all Rwandans as they work together to achieve the most important progress for their nation.
True achievement is not individual. Alone, none of us can accomplish much, said President Kagame.
He revealed that in terms of practical governance none was left behind.
President Kagame said that all Rwandans are his role models
He said: “Only honest answer I can give, is the people of Rwanda, who suffered so much, yet refused to be defeated.”
The Head of State urged Rwandans to keep going until the vision becomes a reality.
He said that Rwanda is a united nation as never before and that makes everyone proud.
He added that working together with people around helps in transforming the world for the better.
The Golden Plate Award has been presented since 1961 by the American Academy of Achievement to approximately 25 guests of honor at the International Achievement Summit.
Chosen by the Academy’s Awards Council and other distinguished authorities, these men and women are of exceptional accomplishment in the sciences, professions, business, industry, arts, literature, sports, entertainment, and public services.
They are acclaimed not as winners, but as visionaries and achievers who inspire many to excel.
Some of the renown laureates of the prestigious award since 1961 up today include Quincy Jones who won it in 80’s for the musical achievement, John Travolta (Cinema), Lionel Richie (Musician ), Tom Clancy (Military expert), Christiane Amanpour (News reporter), Harrison Ford (actor), Morgan Freeman (actor), James Brown (muzika), Wole Soyinka (poet and writer), Denzel Washington (actor), among others..
