As Kigali Special Economic Zone started to be built in the Masoro Sector Gasabo District, its building phase is fulfilled. RDB says that everything has been put into place fro the fulfillment of the first phase of the project.
Mr Sendahangarwa the supervisor of the project told Umuseke that this project has been drafted in 2006 with the aim of improving the industrial sector in Rwanda.
He says that the aims of these projects are to increase the manufactured products that Rwanda sells at international market alongside.
According to Sendahangarwa, another objective behind is to help Rwandan get jobs in order to improve their living conditions.
“We aim at attracting more foreign investors through the setting of adequate infrastructures susceptible to help them carrying out activities very easily” said Sendahangarwa.
The first phase is made of 54 plants that are well equipped to start its activities readily.
Some of them started to operate and the ones located in Gikondo signed agreement with MINICOM that this upcoming month most of them will relocate in Masoro Industrial Hub.
MINAGRI factories started to operate alongside Chinese based factories are already operating.
The Hub is connected to the rest of the area via a road network of eight kilometers.
Electric and water sanitation are made available for healthy use of the waste.
Kwitinda Emanuel, The Engineer operating in the Hub, told Umuseke that small factories have place in the Hub.
A lot of people are searching on how they can set their factories in the hub but it is full now.
For Sendahangarwa the contribution of these factories will be tremendous to national economic growth.
