As she was responding to reporters, Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Louise Mushikiwabo said that the current juridical procedures that the ICC uses in handling world affairs are not fair as African nation leaders are the most targeted.
She said that the International Criminal Court should persecute world leaders allegedly involved into crimes or other violations of human rights equally instead of putting more focus on African leaders only.
Min Mushikiwabo called upon the ICC leadership to remove such discriminatory behaviors if it has to be inclusive and effective.
Talking about the S.Sudanese crisis, Min Mushikiwabo said that the African Union is assessing how civilians can be protected and re-unite the rivaling parts namely Salva Kirr and Riek Machar sides.
She blamed the injuring of Rwandan peacekeepers in S.Sudan recently and said that the AU Summit ongoing in Kigali will assess how the alarming situation in Juba can peacefully be handled.
Minister Mushikiwabo told media that the ICC has sent a letter to Rwanda to arrest Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir but the Rwandan government refuses to do so as his visit will be to attend AU Summit as an in-office Head of State.
According to her, the UN Secretary Ban Ki Moon will be in Kigali on Friday, earlier to the Heads of States Summit as to discuss with concerned officials about the S.Sudanese case.
