As Africa celebrates the African day of information, the Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs combining these duties with being the spokesperson of the Rwandan government Louise Mushikiwabo told media practitioners that Rwandan government is willing and able to back media in its journey towards professionalism and sustainability.
She told participants into the Rwanda Media dialogue held in Kigali labeled Media Dialogue that she has been the Minister of information for a while and therefore she is knowledgeable about the challenges facing journalism.
That said, Minister Mushikiwabo underlined the willingness of the Rwandan government to keep strengthening media as to achieve sustainability and professionalism.
Throughout her speech, Min Mushikiwabo urged media actors to be thoroughly involvement the Africa Development agenda for 2063.
She said that media should play significant role in promoting social and economic political endeavors that are meant to promote positive transformation among African nations at large and in Rwanda I particular.
Mushikiwabo reveals that the upcoming AU legal and institution reform features a close that calls African reporters to be more devoted into reporting on AU related issues that concern Africans.
The Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Louise Mushikiwabo ended her speech urging participants to hold constructive debates on how journalism can cope with the current challenges related to the modern digital era.
