The Rwandan Ministry  of education and the one of agriculture have received a package of 10 million Euro invest in education as to equip students with effective skills that are meant to be used in practicing a modern agriculture that will be targeting the market and export.

The package has been provided by the Netherlands to revolutionize the agriculture sector considered as  the most practiced one in providing Rwandans with food and means of survival.

In his opening remarks during the launch of a new program labeled Strengthening the Education for Agriculture development, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of education Dr. Celestin Ntivuguruzwa  said that the aim of the government of Rwanda is to boost the education that targets wider range of issues such as the modern agriculture, among others.

Dr Ntivuguruzwa told media that a given portion of the envelope will be facilitating in the renew of the current curriculum as to fit it with the new national targets in regard to the present and future development obligations.

This new curriculum is be designed as to allow students from higher learning institutions acquire up-to-date farming knowledge susceptible of revolutionizing how current agriculture is producing.

The Strengthening Education for Agriculture Development  project is under the management of the National Capacity Building Secretariat(NCBS).

The NCBS manager Antonia Mutero revealed that the implementation of the program will involve different actors such university institutions such as INES, IPRC, among others.

She told reporters that experts from Netherlands will be backing Rwandan ones to implement the curriculum.

Rwanda is currently undergoing relatively small agricultural production and, hopefully, the Rwandan Ministry of education and the one of agriculture will be using the above package to set up more policies aimed at reviving this sector for better outcomes.
