Yesterday, Minister of education, Dr Vincent Biruta said that he is proud of the increase of students who successfully completed the TVT’s during the past term.
He said that this increase resulted from intensive activities to promote the education based on professions. Minister of education appreciates the fact that the number of girls who embraced TVT’s has increased.
Among 21618 students who did the exams, 49,83% are girls while 48,45 per cent of all winners are girls. Some Rwandans affirm that the increase of the number of successful students in TVT’s is rooted in the awareness Rwandans have about the importance of embracing the vocational courses.
At the other side many other people said the embracing vocational training because of the lack of financial means to pursue normal courses as Tumusifu Mugabo said.
Tumusifu revealed that his vocation has helped him to acquire necessary skills to survive and feed his family. He said he cannot work for a less than 200 000 Rwf salary per month because he is able to work and get paid 300.000 Rwf within few days.
An elderly man called Kayijuka revealed says Rwandans will be economically developed if the big majority of the youth will be acquiring enough skills in vocational training.
A 21 old Umutesi Lydia says she learnt vocations after not being able to pursue her secondary studies. She said that after she completed her vocational training, she is now financially fit.
