Current Miss Rwanda Crown holder, Aurore Kayibanda Mutesi, this Saturday August 17 set off for Belarus to participate in Miss Supernatural, one of the most coveted beauty pageants in the world.
She will face stiff competition from contestants from all over the world as she aspires to shine the Rwandan flag at the new Miss Supranational 2013 which will be conducted in the Sport’s Palace of Minsk on September 6.
The previous three contests have been dominated by European and Asiatic countries, the Miss Supernatural crown was in 2012 won by Katsiaryna Buraya of Belarus, and 2011 – Monika Lewczuk of Poland, and Karina Pinilla Corro of Panama in 2010.
The only African who has come close to this crown is Michelle Gildenhuys of South Africa, who managed to reach the Top 20 finalists in 2012, since the contest was inaugurated in 2009.
After her crowning in 2012, Rwanda’s beauty queen, Mutesi has managed to win the Miss Pan African Music Festival FESPAM crown in Congo Brazzaville.
