From this Sunday the UN peacekeeping forces called MONUSCO in DRC joined military efforts with the Congolese army to attack the FDLR negative forces, being the only most threatening negative armed force in DRC.
Heavy fighting between FDLR and joint MONUSCO/FARDC forces happened in the Tongo military base of the FDLR in North Kivu.
Last year the MONUSCO and FARDC defeated the M23 rebels and have swore to disarm all the negative forces operating in the DRC.
The FDLR soldiers have been living in the DRC since many years ago at an extent that their families have increased , living in specific areas of the DRC. The Al jazeera reporter visited a territory called Beluesa that is inhabited the FDLR militias.
FDLR comprises people who are responsible to have committed the genocide against the Tutsi in 1994 and fled to DRC and are willing to invade Rwanda.
In DRC, this armed group is accused of rape and massacres of innocent civilians. The UN peacekeeping forces officials have warned the FDLR to disarm or be disarmed by joint forces.
