MTN launches Internet Me2U, a P2P data sharing solution in partnership with U2opia Mobile

MTN Rwanda, the leading telecommunications provider has launched a first-of-its-kind service in Rwanda with “MTN Internet Me2U”, a peer-to-peer (P2P) data sharing solution in partnership with U2opia Mobile with an aim to raise internet penetration and make internet easily accessible for its subscriber base. MTN Internet Me2U is powered by Fonepass, U2opia mobile’s sponsored data platform, and it allows all prepaid users to share data MBs between friends and family on the network.

MTN Internet Me2U allows data to be shared between two users, by triggering the USSD short code *825*10#. This innovative data sharing service allows MTN subscribers to ask a friend or family member for data when her/she is low on mobile data or zero data balance. To check the available balance of MB’s that have been gifted, the recipient can dial *825*11#.

The amount of MBs that a user can send to someone is from as low as 5MB up to 20GB. Customers can now enjoy and share their favourite and affordable data bundles from MTN.
