Paul Ndagijimana is one of the candidates who are running for a five years mandate as local government leader in Gifumba cell, Nyamabuye Sector in Muhanga district. As he was trying to earn people’s trust and vote, he promised them to create a national park at Kanyarira and Kizabonwa hills.
The most thrilling aspect of his promise is that the soon-to-be created national park will be set up at two hills that normally host Christians who come for intensive prayers every year.
It is scheduled that elections for the district advisory council members will take place on February, 22, 2016.
In Gifumba sector, every candidate was allocated with five minutes to relate his political plans for the benefit of the locals.
As he was addressing the gathering, Paul Ndagijimana who normally was excising as a pastor in the Adventist church uttered that one of his plans is to set up a national park that, according to him, will generate more incomes and increase locals’ social and economic well being.
He said that activities to create such a park will help locals to have jobs and therefore have necessary means to satisfy their daily needs.
In order to make the initiate more productive, he added that additional roads will be created in the surrounding areas to ease transport and communication.
However one of the locals who heard what candidates were urging for challenged them.
Pierre Kanyarwanda reminded the gathering that candidates usually promises things that they are unable to materialize.
For him, their utterances should be followed by tangible actions.
He pointed out the fact that after candidates have won the necessary votes from citizens, they no longer appear to them to assess their living and find out whether something else can be done for their well being.
This should stop, he firmly said.
As matter of defense, the candidates replied that they do come back to citizens through different occasions such the monthly Umuganda.
Locals urged the candidates who will be lucky to be voted to rehabilitate bridges located in Kirebe, Gisiza and Rutarabana cells.
