Kubwimana Audace Vice president of the German organisation (Welt Hunger Hilfe) said that his organisation reserved 80 million to be given to two chosen cooperatives in Muhanga district namely KIABER and KOKAR located in Nyamabuye and Shyogwe specialized in cultivating different crops including rice.
Kubwimana said this during a meeting that brought together representatives the German organisation with officials from Shyogwe and Nyamabuye sectors.
The meeting was meant to assess the progress of projects the German organisation has been supporting many years ago and find out by which mechanisms these projects can be sustainable even after the German organisation suspends some of its activities.
Mr Kubwimana said that the amount of 80 millions Rwf are meant to help local farmers to keep increase the productivity of crops cultivated in both Rugeramigozi I and II valleys located in between Shyogwe and Nyamabuye sectors.
He affirmed that (Welt Hunger Hilfe) is not closing its activities but rather targets other projects related to the protection of envinement and management of the infrastructures in the South Province.
Ndejeje Francois Xavier underlined the maturity of the farmers cooperative and hopes that these members of cooperatives will use the money wisely and promised the support from the administration he stands for.
The German NGO Welt Hunger Hilfe has been supporting farmers in the South Province for ten years ago. It supports mainly in the management of valleys of the Province so to increase productivity of crops mainly cereals.
In addition to 80 million Rwf given to KIABER and KOKAR as cooperatives, the German organisation provided other office tools for office workers meant to help them conduct their daily wok effectively.
These tools include cameras, laptops among other useful tools.
