The chief of the management and assessment team in the IPR Kayira Paul, affirms that Muhanga locals have been involved into the Imihigo contract making process.
He said that yesterday in a meeting that brought together officials from the Muhanga district and The Ministry of local government and officials from the local government grassroots.
Muhanga district is assessed by IPR as to analyze its achievements in the completion of the Imihigo throughout this term (2013-2014).
The Muhanga district has been ranked at 26 according to the Imihigo contract achievements.
After assessing the Muhanga’ achievements, the IPR supervisors said that the next step will be to discuss with locals of two sectors as to get a consensus about which projects need to be dealt within the first moment.
The aim of this assessment process is to involve locals in the Imihigo making process.
This will empower them to be active an the implementation of the selected activities and policies.
This process will enable the assessment team to rank the district according to the four pillars that govern the national EDPRS II program.
One of the locals Rushingabigwi Justin said that he has been able to achieve his plans as it was planned. He invested in animal breeding even though some of his domesticated animals died.
He is currently willing to invest in land management and agriculture so that he may harvest at a remarkable level.
