The court of Muhanga has postponed the court hearing that involved 28 local residents including two officials has been postponed and will resume on September, 03 this year.
Four of the suspects told the court that they are not ready for the court hearing as they are lacking lawyers to defend them. The body of judges decided that their claims were valuable and therefore the court hearing should be postponed so that the concerned ones may find lawyers for their defense.
Two executive secretaries are accused of having misused public funds and the use of faked official documents. The rest of suspects, 26 people, are accused of collaboration with the suspected ones highlighted above.
The former executive secretary of Kayumbu sector Mazimpaka Egide, Kabanda Thomas in charge of Vision Umurenge Program(VUP) and Ndayisaba Francois Xavier, who worked for Sacco micro-finance institution being in charge of loans, were previously imprisoned for their alleged charges highlighted above.
The court hearing will resume on 03, September as the judges are soon to enjoy a leave countrywide.
Some of locals urge that the suspects are innocent while others told media that only judges are well placed to decide on the issue.
