New Digital TV system to cover 95 per cent of viewers- RURA

Regis Gatarayiha, the Chief of RURA (Rwanda Utility and Regulation Authority) told media that the current new digital TV system will supply 95 per cent of the views countrywide while the former system covered only  45 per cent.

RURA urges Rwandans who formerly used the Analogue system to shift from it and embrace the new one called Digital before 31 January, 2014.

According to previsions, Rwanda will be the first regional country that uses the digital TV system at such a large scale.

Gatarayiha revealed that the quality of images dispatched by the former analogue system had poor quality but the current ones will be free  and adequate.

RURA advises Rwandans to start using the new system that is meant to have perfect images and reaches a wider size of Rwanda than the former ‘Analogue system’.

RURA urges Rwandans to buy new decoders that will enable them to watch clear images on their TV screens.

One of the challenges that faces Rwandans in regard to the use of the new system is a lack of both knowledge and financial means to use the new Digital TV system but RURA has started campaigning  on the  usefulness of the new system, a campaign that will cover six months.
