Five new ambassadors accredited to Rwanda presented their credentials to President Paul Kagame yesterday.
They include Salah Amed Elsalih Elguneid of Sudan, resident in Kigali, and South Sudan’s Samuel Luate Laminsuk, who will be based in Kampala.
Envoys to be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia include Minata Samate Cessouma of Burkina Faso and Nyolosi Mphale of Lesotho. Christophe Ella Ekogha of Gabon will reside in Kinshasa, DRC .
They all pledged to promote bilateral ties with Rwanda.
“Rwanda has been our friend for a very long time and we want to strengthen this relationship. In my tenure, I want to encourage private investors from Rwanda to start ventures in South Sudan and vice versa,” Amb. Laminsuk told the media yesterday.
Cessouma said Burkina Faso and Rwanda have alot to learn from each other, citing Kigali’s zero tolerance to environmental protection as a success story her country can learn from.
“Rwanda has maintained cleanliness for a very a long time and this is because the Government and the people are committed and patriotic enough to implement development programmes,” she said.
The other envoys reiterated commitment to advance political and economic ties between their respective countries and Rwanda.
