This Tuesday, the Catholic church and the Kibungo University known as UNIK have signed a memorandum of understanding on how the university can utilize the land located in the diocese as to make it more profitable to local population at large.
The MoU was signed in the office of the Kibungo diocese between Bishop Antoine Kambanda and the Kibungo University Chancellor Prof Silas Lwakabamba.
According to the MoU, the University will use the land to cultivate some crops, crops processing activities and providing locals with necessary skills needed to practice modern agriculture.
Bishop Antoine Kambanda told Umuseke that both parts have been working closely in setting up projects aimed at benefiting locals in areas related to agriculture.
Prof Silas Lwakabamba revealed that the university intends at helping locals to acquire modern skills in different fields of development.
He added that the MoU with the diocese is a means of increasing its service delivery activities as to play a role in accelerating locally based businesses.
