Despite construction delays, the long waited guest house in Nkombo is finally completed and operators will start using it not later than tomorrow. The Guest House is worthy 200 million Rwandan francs.
The construction of this guest house aims at attracting more tourists who travel to enjoy the fresh air at the Kivu Lake. It will also host different festivities, including meetings, among others.
The report of the Auditor General revealed that the delays resulted from a poor financial and technical management.
One of the Member of the Parliament who spoke to Umuseke said that this poor management is one of the key issues that Rusizi district officials will got held accountable of during the hearing in front of the Public Accounts Committee.
Theoneste Karenzi said that the Rusizi officials have been keen to accelerate the construction pace as to make the building operational.
There is a tender for a business partner willing to use the new infrastructure and make it more productive as Mushimiyimana Euphrem , who serves as the Executive Secretary of Rusizi district said.
Lesrie Company Ltd is the company that is said to have won the tender to use this new building that is meant to accelerate local touristic sector .
