The Rwandan Basketball player Patrick Nshizirungu, 17 years old, is back in Rwanda after undergoing training from former NBA stars. He told Umuseke that he earned more skills and will utilize it in boosting the game in Rwanda. The training was undertaken in Angola.
This training was prepared by the FIBA in collaboration with the former Africans who played basketball in USA( NBA-Africa) as it intended to allow the raising African young basketball players acquire current skills on playing basketball.
The Rwandan Patrick Nshizirungu was among them. This worldwide program was labeled ‘Basketball without Borders’.
‘The Basketball without Borders’ started in Italy , 2001 and will reach different parts of the world. Not less that 2 300 basketball players undergone the training and it was the first time for Rwanda to be invited and participate.
Patrick Nshizirungu who represented Rwanda told Umuseke that the training has enriched him as he acquired advanced playing techniques.
He revealed that the basketball game obliges its practioner to keep exercising and learn more about the newly set up techniques.
Nshizirungu told Umuseke reporter that they(him and colleagues) were warned about the negative effects that HIV/AIDS can cause on them if they involve themselves in unprotected sex.
This is not only about harming their health but it will equally deteriorate their carrier and future.
