One of the Nyabugogo based forex bureau officers told Umuseke that early this morning a certain Dieu Merci Ndikumana brought fake 2 000€ notes to be exchanged into Rwandan currency but he was uncovered and arrested by Rwanda National Police.
The captured man is currently hosted at the Police Station at Kimisagara.
Police spokesperson Spt Emmanuel Hitayezu affirmed that the suspect is in custody as further investigation goes on.
The total amount of Rwandan currency that Ndikumana would have been given is equivalent to 1.7million Frw.
In such circumstances, the suspect is likely to face imprisonment of between one year to three years if found guilty.
