26, December, 2013, in Nyamabuye, 40 families swore in front of political officials to live in harmony with law governing the families. Mugunga Jean Baptiste, the executive secretary of the Sector says that the process will spread in all cells composing the sector so to diminish conflicts resulting from illegal union.
The swearing in of the couples in Nyamabuye took place at Remera. Mugunga said that families who live illegally are the most likely to experience troubles which sometimes are susceptible to lead to killings between family members, therefore the administration is keen to make that all families live harmoniously with the law.
The ceremony to help families living in harmony with the law is set to take place in their respective cells as to facilitate the willing ones to reach the services easily.
Icyitegetse and her husband with whom she has lived w within 15 years long, said she was afraid that one day her husband will abandon her but that now that they live in harmony with the law, she feels comfortable and secured.
Some the families who legalized the union included some that passed 40 years of illegal union.
