Nyamasheke: Local leaders promise inhabitants cleaner roads in the near future

Residents of Shara cell, in Kagano sector, Nyamagabe district urge leaders to work closely with concerne bodies to establish clean and lasting reads to enable them communicate ealy and overcome poverty that is undermining their well -being. Authorities promise that throughout the application of the coming annual budget, the establishment of these cleaner roads is among the priorities.

Locals are keen to enjoy cleaner roads to enjoy economic activity

One of the locals name Ndera John reveals that the area endures a significant lack of practicable roads meant to boost trade and communication between neighboring cells such as Mubambano and Shara.

He added that this situation lasts for 22 past years, urging authorities to intervene.

John informs that most of the locals don’t have cars to use as the genocide against the Tutsis took lives of the ones who had such facilities.

Since then roads are held in unpractical situations whereby the locals lack cars to use in these roads.

The situation is dual as both cars and good practical roads are missing.

Another woman living in the area  named Madeleine Mukamusoni sadly informs that the bad roads hinder them from easily bring the harvest to marks.

This puts the harvest in dangerous situation where they get spoiled, therefore causing a loss both  in money and food.

Jerome Niyitegeka who is the executive secretary of the Kagano sector promised inhabitants that local authorities are working closely as to cater about the situation.

The vice mayor in charge of economic affairs, Ntakaganira Josue Michel said that the area is poorly equipped with practicable roads to boost exchange between locals. He, however, adds the district management has set aside a sufficient budget package (2016-2017) to be used in solving the situation.

He revealed that district has delivered that bid of the particulars willing to work for this investment

Locals said that the availability and the proximity of the Lake Kivu is an added value that could help them earn money through tourism.

Women coming from the farming activities claim the roads are not practicable
