The 18 years old Placide Niyitegeka sunk as he was swimming in a pool with his colleagues and he died. Sources say that the dead body is not yet found since this Friday.
The victim was studying in construction section in Kigoma sector, Nyanza district, South Province.
He was with six students while he was swimming and it was around 5h30 PM in a swimming pool located nearby the school.
As he was sinking, his colleagues tried to rescue him but in vain but called for help from on-watchers
Rwanda National Police and RDF marine department didn’t allow the volunteers to enter the water to search for the sinking body as to avoid more calamities.
They took the lead to search for the body up to now.
The spokesperson of RNP in South Province CIP Andre Hakizimana revealed that RDF marines are ready to release the body from water .
