At least 900 delegates are expected to attend the Global African Investment Summit (TGAIS) – Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) next month. Rwanda will be held at Kigali Convention Centre on September 5-6 in partnership with COMESA and the government of Rwanda.
Delegates will come from the public and private spheres.
The summit will engage the private sector on the tripartite free trade area (TFTA) initiative, and explore how public and private sectors can collaborate to realize the aspiration of Africa’s largest single market.

As the host, President Kagame invited heads of regional trade blocs – COMESA, SADC and EAC –for an interactive panel on creating a harmonized TFTA.
Invited heads of state are John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania who is also the chairman of the EAC, Ato Hailemariam Desalegn, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia and COMESA chairman, and Seretse Khama Ian Khama, Botswana’s president and chairman of SADC.
