Umuseke has got information that at noon Paul Kagame who is the flag bearer of the RPF Inkotanyi will present his candidature for the presidency at the National Electoral Commission (NEC).
Two hours early, the NEC will also receive the presidential candidature of the private candidate Phillippe Mpayimana.
The article 99 of the National Constitution stipulates that each person aspiring to compete for the Presidency has to depose his/her candidature to the NEC so to validated or rejected.
Previously to President Paul Kagame and Phillippe Mpayimana, there were four other candidates who presented their papers to the NEC.
Those include Dr Frank Habineza who represents the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, Gilbert Mwenedata, Barafinda Segikubo Fred and Diane Shima Rwigara.
So far, Diane Rwigara is the only female to compete for the Presidency. Validated candidatures will be made public on 07, July 2017.
In the press conference with local and international media, President Kagame talked about different issues including local and international issues.
These include how youth should avoid the fear of getting involved into politics. To this point he said that their fear is baseless as politics is everywhere.
Rather, he invited them to more actively be involved in it so to be well prepared to solve issues that affect national life.
President Kagame said that young people should choose the role models that are inspiring and have some thing positive to emulate.
The Head of State denounced the facts that some of authorities are said to be intimidating some of the presidential candidates. For him, those people should be held accountable.
