The family of Mr Mugunga is sadly searching for help due to the loss of his eight houses destroyed this Thursday .The houses were demolished because in the site there a infrastructure that is going to be built there .
According to the Mugunga family, local authorities sent armed local defenses forces accompanying the Police to destroy the Mugunga’ property .This happened during the time when the Mugungu denied the expropriation fees of 18 M Rwandan Francs.
Mugunga using the financial value of his properties are worthy 53 M Rwf .Mugunga family is in dark days as their former properties are now ruined .
The 63 years old Mugunga very sadly told Umuseke:
“I am left completely neutralized .We passed last night in with our friendly neighbors but it is hard to imagine the life in the coming days”
Mugunga is a elder with 7 children with a wife. He is also a grand father to one toddle under five years.
Kayirangwa Dorcelle, the wife of Mugunga says ‘ this kind of injustice is to eradicate. It is inhuman as to destroying one’s property without showing to him/her where to head for’
The local administration says Mugunga was advised to abandon his firm conviction that the money was little one but he did not collaborate.
Mr Raymond Chrétien Mberabahizi ,the Executive secretary of Kinyinya Sector that the action was done in the interest of the general public
The Mugunga family is not the only one that is disenchanted by the expropriation for their wealthy and assets .
One of them told Umuseke that their family members are claiming to the local justice body .This situation is brought to Rwanda Social Security Board ,the investor in the site .The RSSB is a state- owned body that cares for people’ social security through pension insurance.
The Mugunga family wrote a letter to H.E Paul Kagame revealing to Him its concerns. Meanwhile Kinyinya administration says Mugunga still has chances to exploit :
“We told them to lent a house and we decided to pay for it within three months long.We did not knw that thy had legally accepted papers that expropriation procedures were not fair enough . Now that we know they have it they claim to RSSB and we can revisit the decision” says Chrétien Mberabahizi.
The site where Mugunga lives now is set to be a Vision City Site location as drawn into the Kigali City Master Plan.
