The Prime Minister Dr Pierre Damien Habumuremyi advises Rwandans to not conduct expensive weeding ceremonies that harm their economic situations afterwards.
PM Dr Pierre Damien Habumuremyi tweeted that expensive wedding impact on the newly established families’ financial stability.
He wrote that more spending on the wedding ceremonies does not promote saving habit Rwandans especially the youth we should not spend more during our wedding ceremonies, he tweeted.
This case of overspending during the wedding ceremony has been one of the issues that were debated upon during the 10th Government retreat that took place one week and half ago.
During that retreat, officials agreed about the seriousness of the expensive weeding ceremony but did not decide at the legal framework to handle this case.
The common agreement was to sensitize the general public about the usefulness of serving more during the pre weeding ceremony and not spend more during the ceremony it serves so to economically cement the household’s future economic status.
