According to the list highlighting how Rwandan district officials have achieved the Imihigo performance, Gasabo district comes first, while neighboring district Kicukiro came 20. The Imihigo contract aims at accelerating projects enabling citizens to overcome poverty in varying aspects.
The meeting that is taking place in the Kigali Convention Center brings together all ministers, governors, mayors and executive secretaries of all sectors of Rwanda.
The Imihigo reflects commitments for joint planning and implementation cutting across Gov institutions in consultation with private sector.
As the officials present their achievements in the previous term, some of them are lauded while others are urged to improve on certain sectors as to maximize the results.
The Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi who presented report on how the Imihigo were performed said that all districts have achieved them at 25% and each district achieved it at 65%.
Citizen’s participation was ranked at 10%.
He, however, said that this rate at which districts achieved is lower due to the lack of collaboration and cooperation between officials and locals.
Prime Minister Murekezi said that the during last term, more has been achieved through creating new 203 492 jobs.
He said that not less than 69 218 households attained electrical installations even though around 124 thousands were targeted.
More roads were rehabilitated or created at a length of 228 kilometers that are set up to improving transport and communication.
Not less than 36 health centers were built among 37 that were previously identified.
However, the Prime Minister Murekezi said that during the 2016-2017, more exports will be made, featuring varying crops and the related percentage will increase at 8,5%.
This target estimates that crops such as greens, flowers will be more produced and exported thus generating more incomes as flowers will produce not less than $ 300 000.
Minister Murekezi predicted that more households will be equipped with electricity from 23% rate to 28% while the ones using solar power will move from 43 thousands to 204 363.
Throughout this term not less than 300 000 jobs will be created and these will not be related to agriculture or cattle keeping.
More family will be receiving support from the government VUP initiative as 125 thousand households will benefit from it.
All children who are undergoing the 12YBE will be fed at school as to promotion learning, healthy nutrition and avoid school dropouts.
More internet connections will be set up in more areas as to help citizens get connected to internet and improve their lives.
Imihigo has been credited with improving accountability and quickening the pace of citizen centered development activities and programs.
