The Rwandan Parliament- The President of the Senate Dr Ntawukuriryayo Jean Damascene has resigned from his functions for person reasons, he told the Senators.
However, 25 senators called upon an emergency meeting to assess the significance of letter written by the 15 other senators.
Before the meeting started, Dr Ntawukuriryayo Jean Damascene presented his resignation, saying that he had his own reasons for that.
He immediately called upon his deputy to chair the meeting as the Constitution stipulates.
According to Senator Tito Rutaremara, the letter underlined the despot behaviors that the resigned President of the Senate was used to apply to his fellow ones in decision making.
The letter contains also allegations according which the former Head of the Senate involved himself into recruiting staff while this does not belong in his duties and responsibilities.
Senator Rutaremara added that Dr Ntawukuriryayo was advised to readjust his behaviors but he has shown no improvement so far.
Senator Karangwa Chrisologue said also that the outgoing President of the Senate Dr Ntawukuriryayo Jean Damascene misused his capacity and dictated his wishes and wants to others.
Dr Ntawukuriryayo Jean Damascene has been elected as the President of the Senate since 2011 and resigned this Wednesday, 17, September, 2014.
Independent sources urged that the outgoing President of the senate has made an official visit to DRC to discuss with DRC’s senators about issues that were not scheduled by the Protocol and others people making part of the diplomatic commission.
