RGB Publishes a Yearly Report on Governance Indicators.

This Yearly Report on governance indicators is  published  by the Rwanda Governance Board and highlights scores achieved in different areas of governance in Rwanda at an yearly basis. It is technically known as Rwanda Governance Score Card.

In general, according to the report, all areas have positively increased scores apart from the relatively poor scores in information access and in industrial development.

PM .Habumuremyi told the gathering that the report comes as a testimony of good governance progress that government strives to ensure.

He urged all the stakeholders to implement the recommendation highlighted in the report ,especially the civil society.

Lamin Mamadou Monnah ,The UN representative in Rwanda appreciated the technical way in which this report has been made.He said that this report has been made according to universally recognized principles of governance and research in the field.

During his speech he appreciated the level at which the reconciliation has increased in Rwanda.

Commenting on the security indicator,Mamadou said that this is not surprising as Rwanda is known to be one of the African most secured places.

The research has been conducted in Eight Governance Areas:

1. Legal issues involving National Assembly Freedom in law setting and implementing improved from 67.71 %(2010),to 73.37%(2012).

2. Civil Society freedom of speech and decentralization issues have increased from 71.43%(2010) up to 73.62%(2012).

3. The Citizens participation in political and legal process improved from 74.23%(2010) to 75.26% (2012).

4. The national security and safety of Rwandans and foreign residents in Rwanda have improved from 87.26 %( 2010) and reached 91.36%(2012),

5. The living conditions of Rwandans improved from 78.80%(2010) up to 82.41%(2012),

6. Efforts related to Corruption related issues such as mismanagement of public assets improved from 76.22%(2010) to 77.10(2012),

7. Quality services delivery indicators improved from 66.21 %(2010) up to 70.44%,

8. Economic scores indicate that industrial progress decreased from 81% (2010) and reached 74% in 2012.

Prof Shyaka Anastase the RGB manager urged different institutions that poorly scored to improve in their respective areas of concern.
