Thursday, Morning RDF elements, with a special USA Air Force plane f to CAR to keep the security and hinder massacres from continuing in this nation thrown by religious-based troubles.
The RDF Combat battalion is the special one Rwanda has ever sent to peacekeeping missions in different regions of the world. The Chapter 7 Mandate allows the Rwandan troops to use arms anytime necessary to either defend the CAR citizens or to defend themselves against any harm.
This battalion is the first one among others that will be deployed in the nearest coming days.
Brig Gen Nzabamwita, the Spokesperson of the RDF told reporters that these special troops are equipped with all necessary means to help them defend the population in CAR to live peacefully and establish strong institutional entities.
Brig Gen Nzabamwita said the Rwandan troops in CAR will strive to restore peace for all citizens of the CAR without any bias.
The deployment is being done by RDF in partnership with the US Army that provides airplanes for the deployment of soldiers with their heavy weaponry.
US Ambassador in Rwanda, Donald W. Koran told reporters that both Rwanda and USA armed forces have strong partnerships especially in peacekeeping activities that Rwanda is conducting currently across the globe.
We are glad to work together with RDF forces in its efforts to restore peace in the Central African Republic as to help the citizens of this nation live comfortably and in prosperity, said US Ambassador Donald W.Koran.
The First Mechanized Infantry Battalion to be sent in CAR is composed of 800 RDF soldiers mandated to restore peace in that country.
