The RDF spokesperson Lt Col Rene Ngendahimana affirms that the RDF lorry committed a fatal accident that killed three soldiers wounding more other 21, among whom six were seriously injured. The wounded are being taken care of in the Rwanda Military Hospital, Kanombe, Kigali city.
Our reporter said that the accident happened in the northern part of the Kicukiro district office.
The RDF lorry that was coming from Nyanza(Kicukiro) towards Sonatubes where it deployed soldiers to keep the security in Kigali corners as it is usually done, made an accident that was reportedly caused by the lack of control from the side of the driver due to the breaks that became nonfunctional.
It went over the hump areas in the street and the lorry became more disoriented, thus committing the accident.
Eyewitnesses say that the driver tried his utmost to not kill or damage more people who were walking around the street.
People who talked to Umuseke reporter affirm that the lorry packed at least 20 soldiers or more.
