9th, May, 2014. One of the officials of the International alert NGO, ( this is a British one), told a group of the young people gathered at Kinyinya ( Gasabo district) to learn on the ways that are helpful to eradicate the drugs abuse. She also said that the reconciliation process in Kigali is growing weaker than in the countryside.
Umutesi Betty who is in charge of project plan and management in Burundi and in Rwanda said that in the countryside, people do attend and participate into activities of reconciliation and peace building more effectively than in the towns.
For her this results from the fact that in towns and big cities there is a higher rate of people who change their living homes and areas.
This high mobility weakens the process in the cities and towns as people do not have enough and constructive time to learn from one another and inter-connect.
Umutesi told the young people to flee from all circumstances that are susceptible to cause them to consuming drugs.
The use of drugs harms the lives of their consumers and does not promote ones’ economic well-being, she advised the youth.
She revealed to the public that the youth forms a part of the Rwandan population that is the most unified and coherent. Some few and insignificant issues between the youth result from their parents, she revealed.
The International Alert NGO is a British non-profit organization that investigates on human rights issues, reconciliation and in peace-building activities across the globe.
The institution has conducted different seminars in districts of Ngororero, Gisagara, Gasabo, Ngororero, among others. Its activities consist of helping the uneducated youth to become self- made people through undertaking business initiatives.
The NGO has provided the Duterimbere financial entity with 80 million Rwf meant to be given to the youth so help it create jobs and impact on the economic life of Rwanda.
