Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has suspended referee Samuel Uwikunda for one month following his negligence in the strict application of the law during the Azam Rwanda Premier League match day 18 encounter which pitted Mukura VS against APR Fc at Stade Huye on February 24.
Uwikunda was suspended upon request from the referees’ commission after assessing his conduct during that game.
In a game where reigning champions APR Fc won the game 3-2, Uwikunda was condemned for his negligence in the strict application of the law when Mukura VS player Simpenzwe Hamidu head-butted APR Fc striker Issa Bigirimana, even after the fourth official had notified him of the incident.
Uwikunda is suspended from Match Day 19 which starts on Friday, March 3 until the end of Match Day 22 due on April 2, 2017.
