RRA signs agreement on taxes collection with districts.

 Yesterday the Rwanda Revenue Authority signed an agreement with two district but the agreement concerns all the districts.

The aim of these agreements focuses on replacing the districts on their duties to collect and manage taxes and revenues.

In this event that took place yesterday, only Nyarugenge and Rulindo districts representatives have signed the agreement with RRA General Commissioner Richard Tusabe.

The rest of districts should sign the agreement not later than Monday next week. Tusabe told journalists that the aim of this takeover of RRA to collect taxes and revenues is to help districts to collect and manage incomes in order to be put the amount of money collected into the budget reserved for the districts.

For him, there is no need for the government to build technological facilities to help districts collect and manage money while RRA is equipped with such machines and tools.

Kangwage Justus the Mayor of Rulindo District appreciated these initiatives because, as he said, currently districts officials are heavily busy.

For Justus Kangwage, the involvement of the RRA in collecting and managing taxes will be an added value on how taxes and incomes were managed.

The kind of taxes overtaken by RRA are the ones related to properties( called Property taxes), the ones related to renting houses ( called rental taxes) and finally the ones related  to License fees.
