The Rwanda Bureau of Standards has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a USA based institution called IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. This MoU allows RSB to get involved in the assessment of the quality of products made available by the IEEE.
The MoU gives enough power to the Rwanda Standards Board to provide needed expertise to IEEE staff members and vice versa.
Rwanda will benefit from the USA experts as highlighted by the RSB managing director Dr. Mark who welcomed this gesture.
He said that this will also provide Rwandans with opportunities to be part of internationally recognized quality examiners working in 160 countries across the globe.
Regis Gatarayiha who is in charge of ICT in the RSB lauded the signature of this MoU as it will boost ICT based skills among Rwandan quality examiners.
He hopes that Rwandans who will be given these skills will be back Rwandan industrial sector which accelerates in these recent years.
Srikanth Chandrasekaran who represented the IEEE said that Rwanda is a nation of good business opportunities and this calls for more skilled labor in different areas including ICT.
This is why the MoU is of a paramount importance for both Rwandans and the IEEE institution, he underlined.
