The mayor of the Rubavu district Sinamenye Jeremiah told Umuseke that the recent reshuffle that the local authorities intended to increase the quality of service delivery. He denied that it related to a recently meeting with the Parliamentary Account Committee members.
The mayor underlined that the reshuffle is a means by which the district authorities want to improve the quality of services provided to locals as some district agents are better in service delivery than others, he claimed.
Recently, the MPs from the PAC have deplored the fact that there are some district officials who were documented by general auditor as being part of the ones who mismanaged public funds.
One of the cases that discomforted the PAC members is that the ones who are listed n the auditor’s report of 2012-2013 never get persecuted.
The PAC urged the Rubavu district officials to bring not later than two weeks ahead a report highlighting the role played by each of the officials listed and the amount he/she is ‘suspected’ to have misused.
According to Sinamenye, the reshuffle included five exective secretaries namely Habimana Martin, who formely led Nyamyumba sector, Rukabu Benoit who led Mudende sector, Murenzi Augustin who led Kanzenze sector , Rugomboka Daniel from Nyundo and Dukundimana Esperance who led Nyakiriba sector. All of them are redirected to new administrative posts at district level.
The Mayor of Rubavu affirmed that this reshuffle was one of the priorities of the district senior management even before the appeal to the PAC members weeks ago..
Before being appointed as the mayor of Rubavu district, Sinamenye Jeremie was the headmaster of the Kanama secondary school and replaced Sheikh Bahame Hassan dismissed on March, 27, this year for corruption related cases.
He, thereafter, was found innocent by the local court and released.
