Karongi – Early this morning, in Rubengera sector , seven children were heading to school alongside one woman and were attacked by a dog that victimized them, according to a local authority. The children were going to a primary school located in Nyabitare neighborhood, in Gisanze cell.
The dog kept biting people in the neighborhood including one woman who was travelling nearby.
News say that the children were brought to a nearby Kibuye Police hospital due to the severe injures it(the dog) inflicted them.
Gedeon Ngendambizi who exercises as the Executive secretary of the Rubengera Sector told Umuseke that the dog was hunted down and killed afterwards.
He added that the rest of dogs that are likely to endanger people’s lives will be killed as well.
The presence of the biting dogs have been a serious threat in the recent past in that area as reported by the locals who say that these dogs come from a neighboring forest where they have been left by their former owners.
